I've been successful in my z5 garden simply taking them inside and keeping
them in a large dishpan under fluorescent lights for most of the winter.
Some die off, and all of them shrink to a few puny leaves, but all it takes
is sunlight and heat in the spring and I'm pulling them out for the compost
pile.
