Lotus Pot Size
Heather first things first. It is preferred that you don't post to Usenet
in
HTML. Many readers can't view it, as Usenet is an ASCII hang out. Now on
to
your Lotus...
BV - Sorry about the HTML - usually post text.
You can plant your lotus in just a few inches of soil. The tubor needs to
be
just lightly covered. You may also want to put a small piece of slate over
the tobur to protect from fish until it gets rooted. Be careful not to
harm
the growing tip. Plant the tubor near the edge of the pot not in the
middle.
And plant it parallel with the pot edge. Lotus tubors grow laterelly so
they
need room to go around and around.
Thanks - but what I really meant was how much clay soil should I put into
the pot? Not the depth of the actual plant. I will hardly cover the tubor
and have a small flat rock for it. But when the plant gets going I know it
will grow deeper to the bottom of the pot so need to know how many inches of
clay to give it to spread out in.
Thanks,
Heather
