Default Plants & Ferns Cardiganshire Aberystwyth 1933

The Flowering Plants and Ferns of Cardiganshire (now Ceredigion) 1933
Green cloth boards, gilt titles with original d/w. Very good
condition.Issued originally to members of the Cardiganshire
Antiquarian Society in 1934.
UIltra rare, this superb volume lists all the plants and ferns of the
county with botanical and popular names,in many cases descriptions of
local varieties. Also lists sightings of each and every one within the
county.
Thus we learn that the White Stone crop could be found on a wall top
at Fron Gog,Llanafan,on some roofs at Llechryd, and on rocks below the
footbridge at Wallog./ Twiggy Mullein sighted at Nanteos only,by gate
keepers lodge and on wall near the gardens./Sea Sand Spurrey seen in
castle grounds Aberystwyth,Llangranog and Gwbert./Awl shaped Pearlwort
near 5th. milestone on Cardigan from Aberystwyth.
Pretty well every village in the county occurs somewhere,as does the
town refuse tip!
