This is true on state and national parks, monuments, and
recreation areas in the USA, too, but too few people pay any
attention to it, alas. It is increasingly true in National
Forests and on BLM lands in the west -- mostly because of
irresponsible collectors (of almost anything that moves or can BE
moved).
