Only 6 feet? We grew some small pumpkin variety last year (can't remember
the name off the top...) and it pretty much took over the top of our
garden.
That said, we made no attempt to contain it since that bit of the garden
was
"under development", shall we say ;-).

We use small sticks and guide the runners round in circles, at least that's
the theory. :-)
