I prefer neither of those choices.

In a close election, which this promises to be, that's called throwing
away your vote.

It can also be called sending a message to the 2 parties. I've been calling it
"throwing my vote away" for years, but I'm beginning to think it's time for more
people to send the 2 big parties a message. If enough people send them a
message, maybe they'll get a clue.
