Default Are you a Good Bug or a Bad Bug? and another "what the hell*AM* I growing?"

We have the same weed growing all over the place. I thought I had heard it
as lamb's something before, maybe lamb's quarters? The second picture in
the series on this page looks promising:

or try this site and search for "lamb's quarters": http://2bnthewild.com/

Has anyone tried eating it like this site suggests?

Have a plant growing which I thought was coriander (first time trying,
but now I think it is just a weed). Found little larvae living inside
the leaves. Are these good guys or bad? Found a lacey-winged thing
on the bottom of a leaf but killed it beyond recognition.

The larvae...

The plant looks like a dock!
Cheryl

Doesn't looks like any of the pictures of Dock that I could find. Wild
or Curly Dock look more like horseradish to my eyes.

This plant has whitish coloration at the stem of new leaves. The
leaves are totally flat. It has one main stem with new stem branching
from the crothces of lower leaves. The flower heads are beginning to
develop at the uppermost stem--which is why I need to know if it is a
weed. It is about one foot tall.

I know it as sheep's dock or lamb dock!
