Call me a hopelessly out-of-touch optimist if you like, but I'd have
thought a concrete garden pond must be moderately thief-proof.

I'd have thought a stone wall was thief proof, and a *full* water butt
safe just because of the ratio of hassle to profit, but I was wrong on
both counts.
