I picture novelty orchids as something that is cute and different. Not
necessarily something that would pass through the judging system. Maybe
it's an orchid that is smaller or an orchid with different coloring like the
purple blotches on white background phals.

I don't think there is a special class that novelty orchids fall into for
shows.
