How does one tell when sweetcorn cobs are ripe and ready for

picking,
please?

When you push a fingernail into a kernel and get a creamy/yellow

liquid (not
clear). If you wait too long they go hard and become maize, fit for

cattle
feed.
We got ours picked, blanched and in the freezers today , all except

for the
two we ate tonight.

I did not know it was possible to eat only one per person.
