I do have rec. ponds on my computer through my Internet Service Provider,

newsgroups.

Does anyone know how she can subscribe to our newsgroup???

From any web browser you can use:

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=re...btnG=Google+Se
arch

or just

http://groups.google.com/

and type in rec.ponds

However Alltel Internet (alltel.net) does have newsgroups. Here is what
their website says:

Newsgroups are a method of receiving advice, asking for opinions, or
chatting by e-mail about a variety of topics with a large cross-section
of people without having to enter a chat room or compromise your email
address. These ""message boards"" are run by USENET, a worldwide bank of
connected computers that transmit these messages to newsgroups. The
advantage of newsgroups is that they are organized by subject and
contained in a separate mailbox, leaving your own mailbox clutter free.
You can read messages, send messages, or reply to other's messages.
ALLTEL Internet subscribes to USENET which can possibly have a
readership of 1 million.

If your friend has a netnews reader set it to:

News server: news.alltel.net
