Or you can simply burn contaminated soil in a wood fire. That will
remove the oil and leave the soil in the ashes to put back in your
garden with the other ashes.

An "oiled" shed is a fire hazard. Be extra
careful not to spill any oil.


Actually motor oil is very difficult to catch on fire. Try burning some
sometime. However it destroys leather and rubber shoes, tires, and
pollutes ground water if it ever gets to it. This oil can be absorbed
by kitty litter and disposed up properly.
