I wonder what Rubbing Alcohol in the U.S. of A equates to in the UK?
Would methylated spirits do the job?

I had this issue when I first moved to New Zealand, no one knew what I was
asking for!

The "active" ingredient in rubbing alcohol is isopropanol. You can buy it
on the shelve in the us at dilution of 70% and also ~90% if I remember
right.

The only place you can get it at in NZ is at the pharmacy, pure. I ask for
isopropyl alcohol now.

Hope this helps.

Nic
