I have a telescoping pole with a hook on the end. It lets me hang the trap
right on the edge of the rain gutter near the entrance/exit to the nest
while I stand a safe distance away.

It's too inaccessible to spray once, but you can get to it enough to bait
and empty your traps repeatedly?
