Actually, if you want to get REAL technical...the poem
I sent as a reply is not a true haiku either. Having
a reference back to self or a personal situation is
called Senryu. Haiku is a moment with reference to
season, an observation from some distance,
emotionally.

Summer gone
By the whims of weather
So are the leaves
