I have a Ficus with multiple trunks that I plan to reduce next spring. All

trunks need to be cut down by at least half. The trunks are one quarter to

there
any special requirements for these?

Given you are in Zone 7, I think I would wait until spring, unless you
have conditions in the house to grow the cuttings. I think I would wait until
the plant has a flush of spring growth.
Ficus benjaminia is a little different from other Ficus and certainly
where you are. You must leave plenty of foliage on the plant you cut back or
it will not survive. You will also want to leave three or four leaves on every
cutting.
