Any good books you good folk on here could recommend for a novice

the best time to sow seeds etc.

You don't need a specifically organic book, but if you can find
Lawrence D. Hills' book on organic fruit and veg growing somewhere
you won't regret it, as it has a lot of specialist info the keen
organic (or any) gardener will find particularly useful.

More recent titles are at:

For sowing times etc, the seed catalogues are reliable and free; and
the instructions on seed packets are by the same people who write the
books.

Mike.

Lawrence D. Hills' 1971 book, 'Grow Your Own Fruit and Vegetables',
(second hand) is available at Amazon.co.uk.
