Around here, most of the village had put out lovingly carved jack'o
lanterns, representing also a new effort towards a spirit of
togetherness in the village. Lovely: until they were all smashed to
bits
by some such kids....

Some friends of mine had one outside on Sunday. They heard a bang and
when they went outside they saw the lid had flown off. They assumed it
was because they hadn't made big enough holes (hmm) but next morning
they found some kind soul had put a firework in it.
