probably in the Southern states. I grew up with uncles that regularly
hunted squirrels and my grandmammy fixed them as a stew. Or my great
aunts
fried them like little chickens or squab. (and they ate squab
too......which
is pigeon)

Looking again at my cookbook, it does say chicken fried squirrel is pretty
delicious. :-)
