I read about the three borers on your tree.
I first saw "Thunder" in a book by David Prescot I found in a portuguesse
hardware store (I live in northwest Spain).
Nature does this things ...
I haven't found any entry holes or damage on the "healthy" part of the tree,
so I may give it a try and put the effort ... you know ... its free !!
(Putting the effort, that is).

Regards,
Tony

You can inject a Bore Killer (Insecticide) with a syringe into the holes.

However, you will need to decide if there is enough left on the tree to
warrant the treatment.

I lost a beautiful Picea that I named "Thunder" to wood borers. You can

see it at: http://members.aol.com/iasnob/thunder.html

Cordially,
