Long-handled hoe-blade tools work fine for smaller weed sprouts. Any
weed with roots deeper than 4-5 inches requires a different type of
tool, like the Ergonica Weed Twister www.ergonica.com with
double-coiled tines. This tool also works like a circle hoe, which is
popular in England. Perhaps it's a little more work than chemicals, but
it's better for the environment.
