this is the best time of year to give your serissa a good cuting. Use sharp
pruners or shears to do so. IF it is healthy, you can cut it back serverely
now and it will response well (if you are in the northern hemisphere) is it
spring even for plants under light.
Cut back to reform the laters you had to start.
BTW if the spaces between leaf sets are long as your say, the plant is NOT
getting enough light.

Subject: [IBC] bonsai pruning

hi there! i bought a serrissa foetida last december. wen it arrived it
looked beautifully pruned and pretty but now its got pretty messy and
is starting to loose its intended shape. due to it being under a fluro
light some of the shoots have gota bit spindly and have grown right up
to the light, i really want to tidy the tree up and give it a good
prune. is there any tips i need to know. a hav a bonsai book wich gives
me the basics but gives no indication of tools so im not sure what to
buy, do i just use small garden sheers? any help would be greatly
appreciated before my bonsai starts looking more like a messy shrub
than a tree! thanks!
