Nothing, repeat, nothing, will stop a cat fouling your garden if it has a
mind to. The coleus Canina is not liked by cats, but they will move three
feet or so away from it and foul there instead. You could carpet your garden
entirely with it, but who wants that?

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
