Default Maintenance free potatoes?

My friends have a cottage and small garden in central Ireland where they
stay for one month each year, usually mid August to mid September.

Is there a variety of potato which can be left to 'grow wild' for the 11
months between September and the following August and still produce a crop
for digging up in August?

Any digging over and manuring would have to be done in August/September.

'Floury' varieties of potato are preferred.

The soil is loam on limestone redrock.

Slug resistance would be a high priority.
