You may want one that is permanently open and leads to a drain,
to avoid overflow spilling over the sides. You don't need one
with certain kinds of drainpipe diverter, with ballcocks and
when overflow doesn't matter.

The tap you use to get the water out for use is separate, as
is any linkage between butts.
