Most websites recommend fertilizing at planting and mid to late Summer
with a slow release 20-20-20, although one said it would reduce flowering.
Light pruning will encourage repeat blooms.
Mine grow in the Cruel Flowerbed of Neglect out back and seem to like it.
I do nothing but whack the dead growth to the ground every Spring and then
they're on their own.
