Iris: Why not just direct them to the beginner bonsai class on
juniper produced by Herb Gustafson for the IBC site?

I just made up a mallsai of a small Shimpaku for a silent
auction. I'm planning to add a beginner's book, but can anyone
point me to an article on growing Shimpaku bonsai? The only one I
found, from Sabrina Caine, has too many errors.

And if you know of errors in Sabrina's article, maybe you should
send an errata sheet to BCI (Alan????) so someone can do a
corrected version. I'm sure BCI wan'ts accurate info.
The "beginner's beginner's book" (and cheap!) is DK Books' "101
Essential Tips: Bonsai" which only costs $5.00 and packs a LOT
of concise info into 72 shirt-pocket-sized pages. It's by Harry
Tomlinson.
