Actually the ones I have might be different but made to the same specs. I

temp at 5500K. How does this jive with lighting conditions for aquariums
(growing plants, that is)? I know it is complicated, but I see a lot of
people talking about 6500K and so on. Are "daylight" bulbs not the right
thing for a tank?

I've seen folks here say over and over that plants can grow on just
about any light but green. 5500K is a very nice color temperature for
freshwater - it's what I happen to be using right now and plants are
growing fine.
