Hi Margret,

It would help to know how low you wish the hedge to be .. evergreen or
deciduous .. formal or informal. Bear in mind that if you intend to
regularly clip the hedge for a formal or at least tidier appearance, you may
be cutting away the flowering shoots. It may be possible, of course, to
clip after flowering, depending on the plant and the effect required.

It would also help to know about your soil and aspect, including sheltered
or exposed position.
