Hello Keith

KS Anyone know the fuel/oil ratio for a McCulloch Mac 5
KS chainsaw using 'Clarke 2 stroke oil' Have tried loads of
KS places without result.

If in any doubt, use the bog-standard mixture of 25-1, which is
guaranteed to work. And can work out cheaper than using specialised
synthetic oils at 50-1 (I've seen Husqvarna 2-stroke oil selling at
three times the price of generic 2-stroke oil). You also get more
leeway in case the mix is wrong.

I've heard (from manufacturers) that it's more likely to cause
excessive sooting of the plug, but I've been using 25-1 for 'kin years
in all two-strokes and have yet had a problem.

Even if it did, I'd rather have to clean a plug than replace a seized
piston.
