my daughter is doing a seed germination experiment with rye and
bean seeds at 50000, 100000, and 150000 rads. unfortunately her
cat knocked the plates over. We have a general idea of what is
supposed to happen from research sites but wonder if anyone can
confirm.

I can help confirm. Most researchers will agree that after an accident
of that nature, you throw out the results, and start your experiment
again. Since it only takes a few days for rye or bean seeds to
germinate, you are only set back a short time.
