in the ground will be OK. We have a total of 7 acres so, as long as
we choose the position right, size is not of much consequence.


In that case, go for it. My father's next door neighbour has one growing
against the W side of his house - it reaches the eaves, but he picks his
figs by the carrier bag full :-))
