3 years ago I planted 5 of these beasts (2.5L pots, 1m high plants) in
a row about 1m apart to form a screen from my own nosey neighbour.
They are now pushing 3m high and have crept to completely fill a
confined space of about 7m * 2m. It grows like fury and I'm having to
think about some further methods of containment as I'm worried about it
creeping under the adjacent patio, damaging the wall nearby, uprooting
my house, attacking small children, etc.
On the plus side it has done exactly what I wanted it to - provide a
bushy, evergreen screen - it sounds delightful in a light breeze, and
is as tough as old boots, all in a fraction of the time of other
plants. Also, it's covered in ladybird larvae at the moment. Now
there's an evil looking creature but that's a chat for another day...
