Have you got a digital camera? Use whatever options you have on it to
take a clear photo from as close as possible at as high a resolution as
you can manage, then use paintshop pro or similar to cut off all the
border area, and magnify the picture as much as you can without losing
clarity.

If its another type of weevil could it come off the field at the end of
the street? I am presuming all with have those nasty grubs.

They'll all have larvae, which will eat a variety of different things.
