I just don't feel comfortable giving my card # to a place online I've
never
done business with before. I hear so much about Internet rip-offs I'm a
bit
paranoid.

I have friends who are paranoid. They have a card they dedicate to online
use. They then cancel the card once every six months or so, and get new
numbers. The credit card company understands, appreciates the dilligence.

## That's a smart move.

FYI, you are protected by federal law with your credit card. "That's a
fraudulent charge" is basically magic words for "get that off my ****ing
credit card, fix the problem."

Online banking is /much/ riskier. Banks carry no such obligation. If
someone empties your checking account, the bank can decide to cover
the problem... or not. Most likely not.

## With crackers and hackers working diligently on getting your personal
information, I wouldn't bank online either. In this day and age you can't
be to cautious.
