A good point. I will do that.

Be sure to specify which edition of the Sunset Western Garden
Book you refer to. I'm pretty sure that Sunset to some extent has
modified the various zone descriptions (and their geographies)
over the years.

I agree that USDA map has its drawbacks, mostly because it is based only on mimimum winter temperatures. What you may find useful is the new CANADIAN plant hardiness map (2001). The zones are based on 7 climate variables, rather than just temperature alone. Hopefully with time the USDA map can be upgraded to include other factors. It might be something we all could use!
