My son built a new house 2 years ago. The front yard was too steep to
mow, so he spent almost $100,000 having English Ivy planted in the yard.

The problem appears to be, your son isn't very bright. $100k for English
Ivy?

I suggest you get a court order to handle his financials, since he seems
incapable to do so.
