Not really. The B&Q one my mother-in-law had lasted only about a season
and had very limited cutting power or battery life. It spent far too long
charging and ran for very little time on each charge. The battery made it
heavier than a proper industrial strength hedge trimmer.

I was looking in B&Q at the Black and Decker and Bosch ones.

I'd go for a petrol or mains powered one or a decent pair of hand shears.
The noise of any mechanical hedge trimmer is pretty bad.

So I take it was the Power Performance (B&Q) cheapie one she bought?
The Bosch and Black and Decker ones boast a running time of 55 minutes.
Which is enough to trim most soft shrubs.
Anyone with either machine?

We have a Black & Decker which I (Kath- who has arthritis in my neck) find very good and fairly
lightweight too.
