Mike, I've been interested by your posts and am obviously missing the
point. What is the purpose of subscribing to a group and then deleting
the messages ? I have even set up OE again to see how it functions -
I use Agent - and the rule works if you, for example set the messages
to be a certain colour, but are only deleted if you access the rule
and click on ' Apply now ' when it works.

I suspect it is just a quirk, to avoid having a separate list of
instructions, simply for Newsgroups.
