Ah, Vaminolac.

Page 85 of "Asymbiotic Technique of Orchid Seed Germination" notes
the breakdown of Vaminolac, and compares it with Sigma's RPMI 1640
(R7131). Although there are differences, they are quite similar; R7131 has
been used in the media for germination and culture of cyps, which I assume
is what you're interested in.

Marg Ramsay at Kew reports using 10.0 mL of R7131, or 7.7 mL of
Vaminolac. David Mellard suggests 5 mL of R7131.

You might ask on www.cypripedium.de for what others are doing, or
for a way to contact Svante Malmgren himself to see what he has to say.

Also from page 85 in the "AT" book is the following preparation:

Glutamine 400 mg
Alanine 50 mg
Cystine 20 mg
Arginine 10 mg
Leucine 10 mg
Phenylalanine 10 mg
Tyrosine 10 mg

And then use potato instead of pineapple, kinetin, NAA, and 2,4-D.
