What exactly is the "benefit" of some people in a target audience NOT
fully understanding the speaker?
Those few among the masses would receive little to zero benefit.....that
would be their tough luck....as a Marketing Specialist for a major
corporation and not a door to door salesman my "job" would have been
successful had I gotten across to the masses....the target audience.
And I am almost exactly the opposite. In my work, if I attempt to
dumb down to the level of the (even professional, specialised)
masses, it becomes impossible to convey the important information.
Yes, I need to be able to say things at various levels, which do
include relatively low-level overviews.
Please note that there is no fundamental difference between the use
of a local dialect and a specialised technical jargon. So the
benefit of some people not understanding me is that I can convey
more and better information to those that do.
