Hi All,

I,m from the South Wales (UK), and 'lurk' here off and on. I wish to plant
Marshalls Shallot: Pikant in my raised bed. Is it too early to plant them
now? Thanks

Plant them now, but give them some protection such as straw,
horticultural fleece or a clear plastic sheet for a few weeks.
Firm the soil down well before planting and leave just the tips of the
bulbs showing above soil level.

Marshalls are an excellent company, but pricey IMO. I've just bought
75 red onion sets & 15 shallots from Poundstretchers for 99p each.
Worth a try, considering the silly prices in the supermarkets! Have
started these off in the greenhouse, as the ground is so wet.
