Default a gardening book for a five year old

I don't know what Ladybird Books are doing these days, but it might
be worth checking (maybe on the Web): they can vary from pretty good
to appalling. It's always tricky, though, as many books which look
great for children through adult eyes don't seem to appeal in the
same way to children themselves (I found this, for example, with some
Dorling Kindersley publications).

Making a book together with a child can be very rewarding for both:
you stick in your own photos and cut-out pictures from magazines and
newspapers, and compose the text yourselves.
