Well, this is the dumbest thing I think we've done, yet. Mark comes
in this morning saying one of the two comets out back are now gone.
So, every one of the fish were eaten by something over the last
several years. The one was left, and a bit frayed with some scales
missing. I called Hill Country Water Gardens and asked if they'd take
the fish. They would. We catch the fish and take it up there. A huge
pond, I was so happy. We get home, the other fish was hiding from
whatever trauma went on with whatever animal that tried to eat them
and now we are left again with a lonely fish! We take the second up
there. So, the first big pond on the left when you enter will have
two large comets if anyone would like to go visit my fish! I'm glad
anyway because that's a nice big pond and we can always visit.

What a day.

Have you ever considered netting over your pond to protect the fish?

Normally we do put grates over the pond after the losses. However,
there is still plenty of foliage and hiding places as it's been so
warm. Anyway, they are both in a nice big pond now and I could 't be
happier for them both. I hope they find one another as they are the
biggest in that pond.
