Default strawberries?

Am looking to buy some strawberry plants. Any recommendations as to which
type? Am looking for outstanding flavour and sweetness.

So, no-one knows anything about strawbs then?!

The way in which strawberries are raised, grown and cropped has every
bit as much influence over the final flavour and texture of the crop as
does the variety. Weather, soil and time of the year too have their part
to play. If you really want to have outstanding flavour with tart
sweetness, you need to pick tiny wild strawberries. Next best thing to
those are alpine varieties such as e.g. Red Delight etc. begun from seed
then kept on as perennials.
