I have a very happy Phal. It blooms pink flowers and now has a line
of buds on a side branch and a kiekie at the end. The kiekie is very
healthy but doesn't have any roots yet. It's about two to three inches
across. Do you let it develop roots then cut it off? Thanks for any
help.......Burr

You need it to have 3 - 4 inches of total roots before you twist/cut
it off. The more the better. Some of these grow roots easier if you
bend them down to touch the top of a pot of moss. Others stay happily
on Mom and bloom along with her. Your choice as much as the Phal's.
Have fun. Remember the baby is vegetatively the same as a division
of Mom and retains her name and breeding. (any awards Mom has won as
well.)
