Look up Stinkhorns......

Seriously.

And roundup won't kill fungi.
Try a sulphur based treatment, water it in then wait a week and treat
with soil flora.

Another "nail on the head" from you! Thanks so much..Stinky Damn things..We
thought our septic went haywire..I have got to find something to kill
them...Ours are specifically the "Ravenel's Stinkhorn" I wasn't gonna tell
the familiarity to a specific male body part but the genus is "Phallus" or
something like that :-)

Glad I could help.

Our local nursery sold me a sulphur soil treatment to fix a fungal root
rot problem with my ivy. It stopped it in it's tracks and the ivy is
recovering with the soil flora treatment.

I'm not 100% sure that it would kill your problem, but try a local
nursery and ask them for sure... There are also commercial fungicides
but I'd not go with those unless there was no other choice. I personally
prefer the less toxic routes to pest control.

I'd read about stinkhorns in my research on wild mushrooms. G
