This grotesquely shaped citrus is growing in a Sydney garden.

What in the name of fortune is it?

It's a Buddha's Hand citron, Citrus medica sarcodactylus. Often grown
as a conversation piece.

Thanks Malcolm. It's a conversation piece alright.

Technically edible, in that there's nothing poisonous there. But it's
mostly peel, with very little pulp inside, and the pulp is sour and
lemon-like. The fruit is highly fragrant when ripe, and one of them in a
room will make the whole room smell good.
