Default Can Pampas Grass cuttings be put in compost?

Or even without shredding, but they will take longer.

It is worth sprinkling such woody material (including pampas) with
some general fertiliser and some earth, and making sure that it
is damp but not compacted, because it will be broken down by fungi
and not bacteria.
