I would imagine if you have minerals in your water they will settle out
around the mister. An alternative would be to use distilled water.

The jets on my brass misters got clogged. I forget whether I soaked them
in Vinegar or bleach. Worked fine (whichever it was).

Vinegar would certainly do the job - we used to have to soak all sorts of
things in vinegar to remove calcification.
